The Purpose and Scope of the Position

  1. To provide and support the sales and marketing of UPS Midstream (UPS) parts and services, which includes shop and field service contracts for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of reciprocating engines and compressors used in power generation, oil and gas and other related industries as well as to successfully increase the profitable sales of parts and other aftermarket equipment and systems for the replacement market.
  2. With minimum supervision, to respond to a variety of inquiries from both customers and sales representatives concerning prices, deliveries, and project status.
  3. To prepare proposals and quotations, working with customers to develop concepts, evaluate needs, and further the sales process.
  4. To be responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with customers and vendors.
  5. To assess customer needs and market trends through the analysis of the purchase of parts, service requirements and other factors that affect the marketability of UPS services. To effectively communicate findings and work closely with management and colleagues to pursue opportunities in the marketplace.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receives requests for quotations, orders, and information from customers. Makes quotations on standard items, writes orders and follows through with customers. Coordinates with appropriate in-house personnel in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.
  2. Support field sales personnel in taking all actions necessary to qualify UPS as an acceptable service and parts supplier. Develops proposals and ensures that the content of all proposals will meet the requirements of the bid documents and are descriptive, professional, and timely. Develops and maintains proposal “templates” that will assure quick-response competitive offerings that will yield appropriate profit objectives.
  3. Reviews and analyzes orders for completeness and accuracy. Maintains current status of outstanding proposals and inquiries.
  4. Visits customers regularly with sales representatives or directly to maintain sound customer relations and to develop a workable link between UPS Midstream Services, the sales representatives and the customer. Participates in various presentations on service offerings, pricing, new service programs and other sales and marketing matters.
  5. Develops close relationships with those individuals who are buying or have specifying influence in the marketplace to maintain and increase current sales levels with existing customers and to increase market share through the development of new business.
  6. Ensures that maximum coordination is achieved between sales, operations, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and other functions to provide the highest quality of service and support to the customer.
  7. Develops and implements business development concepts, programs and promotions including advertising, sales promotion, and publicity activities for the Lafayette facility.
  8. Develops new and added-value products and service concepts to ensure the continuation of quality services and support to customers.
  9. Performs special marketing or project development projects as assigned by UPS management.



Education, Experience and Skills Required

  1. A technical or business degree is desirable.
  2. An established, successful career in the sales, marketing, and applications of technical services and parts for rotating mechanical equipment applying customized solutions to the natural gas compression industry.
  3. The candidate must be articulate, persuasive, and self-confident with excellent oral and written communications skills.
  4. Experience must reflect a keen sense of urgency to making things happen through effective planning and execution of sales and support activities.
  5. The candidate must be a self-starter who can work effectively with colleagues and customers to achieve significant results.
  6. The position requires a candidate who thrives on challenges and is driven by the need to succeed together with the desire to create and realize new opportunities. Creativity and resourcefulness are essential qualities for this position.
  7. Must be a focused and determined individual with extensive and proven record as a team player.


Guard 1 Services, LLC company is looking for a professional security guard to protect our premises, assets and personnel. You will maintain a high visibility presence and report any and all illegal or inappropriate actions.

The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report.

  • Opens gate to allow entry or exit of employees, truckers, and authorized visitors.
  • Performs security patrols of designated areas, on foot or in vehicle. (varies by client site)
  • Records on (IPAD) all vehicles entering the premises
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety concerns.
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Notifies Supervisor of any emergencies or day to day operational issues.
  • Investigates and prepares reports on accidents, incidents and suspicious activities.
  • Follows job work instructions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


  • Must possess a Security Guard License
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be able to pass any Client-specific training requirements


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State
  • Must have access to reliable transportation (RV – as this position is 24 hrs/7 days a week)
  • Must not use illegal drugs.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test with a negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment)
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and Department of Motor Vehicle.


  • Environment: Indoor and Outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
  • Major activity: Walking, standing for a minimum of 8 hours; speaking, listening and observing.
