Under the direction of the millwright or millwright foreman, perform tasks required for the removal, installation, disassembly, and assembly of rotating equipment that is part of an oil refinery process unit.
Responsibilities
Participate in daily toolbox safety meetings
Comply with all safety rules and requirements, including the work permit and JSA requirements
Report all safety and quality incidents
Perform all work as directed in a safe, quality, and efficient manner
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Two plus years in the millwright craft enrolled in a US Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship, and at least three years of verifiable work in the millwright craft in an oil refining or petrochemical environment
NCCER Level Four Millwright certification is a must
Have formal training on the following tools:
Torqueing equipment (manual and hydraulic)
Rotalign Ultra Laser Shaft Alignment System
Dotalign Laser Sprocket Alignment System
Have formal training to work on one or more of the following:
Pumps
Gearboxes
Turbines (steam or gas)
Fans, blowers
Compressors (reciprocating or centrifugal)
Compliance with UPS’ substance abuse policy
Work in a construction environment to include the ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift 50 lbs., and work in an outdoor climate
