Position Summary

Supervise the activities of the millwright craft assigned to the foreman.  This scope will include the removal, installation, disassembly, and assembly of rotating equipment that is part of an oil refinery process unit.

Responsibilities

  • Assign millwright craft tasks to complete scope of work assigned to foreman and crew
  • Lead daily toolbox safety meetings
  • Ensure equipment is in a safe condition to be worked to include having the proper work permit, JSA, and LOTO
  • Record all quality data required per plan and turnover information on approved documents
  • Track and report work time per employee by work order and/or PO number
  • Perform safety and quality audits to ensure adherence
  • Report all safety, quality, and personnel issues
  • Lead millwright crew to perform safe, quality work in an efficient manner

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six plus years in the millwright craft graduating from a US Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship, and at least ten years of verifiable work in the millwright craft in an oil refining or petrochemical environment
  • NCCER Level Four Millwright certification is a must
  • Be proficient working with/on the following tools/equipment:
    • Torqueing equipment (manual and hydraulic)
    • Rotalign Ultra Laser Shaft Alignment System
    • Dotalign Laser Sprocket Alignment System
    • Pumps
    • Turbines (steam, gas)
    • Gearboxes
    • Fans and blowers
    • Compressors (reciprocating, centrifugal)
  • Compliance with UPS’ substance abuse policy
  • Work in a construction environment to include the ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift 50 lbs., and work in an outdoor climate
  • Working off shifts and overtime regularly
  • Job is located in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands
