Job Description:
Universal Plant Services is in search of an experienced Manual Machinist to work in our Shop location in Carson, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual machining with the ability to operate Engine Lathe, Vertical Turning Lathe and Horizontal Boring Machine.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) and Horizontal Mills.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Perform precision machining tasks to produce components within tight tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met.
Qualifications:
- 6 years’ experience as a Manual Machinist with experience in VTL and Horizontal Milling.
- Strong understanding of machining techniques and tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
