Manual Machinist

Summary of Position

Performs Machining Services in a variety of settings at client work sites.

Essential Job Requirements:

• The Employee will perform manual machine work on components for Compressors, Turbines, Pumps, Blowers, Conveyors, and other components as necessary.
• Will operate manual machine equipment to include manual lathes, vertical mills, drill press & saws.
• Perform operations such as manufacture of new shafts, turn & undercut shafts, thread cutting, broaching keyways, boring, and sleeve manufacturing
• Performing incoming inspections, overhauls and rebuilding of Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors, Turbines, Pumps and their components
• Understanding & filling out data sheets is a must
• Reading & understanding work-scopes & Q.C. procedures are a must
• Work with close tolerances. (.0005″)
• Prior machine shop experience and balancing of rotating equipment helpful.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Required Education

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
• Trade School Degree in an industrial related field or a similar
• Associate degree preferred.

Required Experience

Five (5) or more years’ experience as a Machinist in an industrial setting required.

Required Skills

• Must be able to set up and operate machining equipment
• Able to follow precise directions and procedures of the supervisor on the project.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Mental Requirements

• Properly uses and completes customer and company job related forms and paperwork.
• Must be able to communicate technical and non-technical jargon to customers, supervisor and co-workers.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
• Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.

Range of Pay: $35-40 hourly

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday
