Looking for a reliable and efficient Shop Runner to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to pick up and deliver parts and materials across the Houston area.

Job Summary:
Universal Plant Services is looking for a reliable and efficient Shop Runner to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to pick up and deliver parts and materials across the Houston area, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to our shop and various job sites. This role is crucial in supporting our operations and ensuring that all necessary parts are available when and where they are needed.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver parts, materials, and equipment to and from vendors, job sites, and our shop within the Houston area.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, including delivery receipts and inventory lists.
- Safely load, unload, and transport items, ensuring that all materials are handled with care.
- Communicate with the shop and purchasing teams to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
- Ensure the company vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and operated in a safe manner.
- Assist in the organization and stocking of parts and materials in the shop as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, vehicle operation, and customer service.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with vendors, clients, and team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have current valid driver’s license with a good record.
- Familiarity with the Houston area and ability to navigate efficiently.
- TWIC card required-Can acquire if don’t have.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a delivery/driving position is a plus.
- Experience with pulling trailer.
